This show starts out kind of rough and has a lot of stage banter, but as the band settles in & heats up we get a lot of highlights and an overall great show. LOVE the Dark Star, a wild ride...

couldn't agree more, Hard To Handle is a throwaway for sure, but everything else is SMOKIN' hot.

defiantly love the Dark Star, Other One, Hurts me Too, Me And My Uncle, Cold Rain, and the wicked version of Sittin' On Top Of the World.

this show also has the most gorgeous Friend of Mine ever played...

I think this is the longest Friend of Mine, too. Though some others also get to 12-13 minutes.
They played a lot of fine Friends of Mine that year. 7/3/69 is possibly the best-jammed version - it's one of the few that STARTS with a long solo.
The other best versions are 4/12/69, 4/23/69, 6/5/69, and 6/8/69. (9/6/69 and 3/21/70 also have fine second solos.) Sometimes Friend of Mine had just one solo instead of two - the standouts among these versions are 6/14/69 and 11/1/69.

Hey Light, how about you doing a post of a imagined set list. Its a show where every song is the longest or most jammed out, or iyo the "best" version of it available, such as this song we have here. You can stop at '74 for all I care. I have and love your website, but this would be a show that you call the song and order and then we seek and enjoy. Just a thought.
Peace.
